Our position
Yes, it's AI. Here's where we stand on that.
No euphemisms. RealmCast casts battlemaps and handouts with image models, and we'd rather tell you exactly how that works than let you assume the worst.
The plain statement
We're explicit that this is AI generation.
Every map on this site, every render your account produces, comes out of an image model. We don't call it anything softer than that, and we don't bury it in the fine print. If knowing that changes whether RealmCast is right for your table, better you find out here than after you've paid for mana.
The quality bar
High-quality AI content, not AI slop. We solve the tropes.
"AI-generated" gets used as an insult because most of what it produces earns one — melted walls, doors to nowhere, a grid that doesn't match the room. That's a pipeline problem, not an inherent limit, and it's the specific problem RealmCast's blueprint step exists to solve. Seethe tropes we solvefor the specifics.
Functional assets for the table, not gallery art. We're not trying to win an art contest — we're trying to get a floor plan onto your screen that survives contact with the party before Friday.
Where we don't compete
We're not here to replace your artist.
We never position RealmCast against commission artists, and we won't start. A commissioned map or handout from a human illustrator is a different thing made for a different timeline and a different budget — if you have both to spare, spend them on a person. RealmCast is for the session that's four days away, the dungeon you improvised at the table last week, and the campaign that needs forty rooms this month and can't commission forty rooms this month. Our target is the generic map-pack PDF and the evening lost to prompt roulette, not the artist you'd hire if you had the time.
What you keep
You own what you cast.
Every battlemap and handout your account produces is yours — to print, drop into a VTT, hand to your players, or never look at again. We don't claim any right to reuse your casts, and we don't train on your content. What you describe, blueprint, and cast at your table stays at your table.
What mana actually costs
Pricing reflects real provider costs. No loss-leader bait.
Running these models costs real money per render, and mana pricing is built to reflect that — not to lure you in below cost and raise it once you're dependent on the workflow. Seethe pricing pagefor the actual numbers, including what happens when a cast fails (you get the mana back, automatically).
