What mana buys

Maps per month, honestly.

Mana tracks what a render actually costs, not a marketing number. Here's the anchor:

1K / 2K cast

A few mana

A single tactical room or a modest multi-room layout at table resolution. This is the bread-and-butter cast for a weekly session.

4K multi-room + variations

~20–30 mana

A print-resolution dungeon with several regions, plus a couple of state variations (post-battle, night, on fire) cast from the same blueprint.

On Archmage's 100-mana bundle, that's several full sessions of 1K/2K maps, or a handful of 4K set pieces, every month. On Demiurge's 350, it's campaign-scale casting without watching the counter.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is mana, exactly?
Mana is the unit that pays for a cast. Every render — a battlemap, a handout, a variation — costs a number of mana tied to what it actually takes to generate it. It is not a token, not a credit, and it does not expire the way a subscription seat does.
Does my mana roll over?
Bundle mana — the amount included with your monthly plan — resets each billing cycle and expires after 30 days if unused. It is use-it-or-lose-it, the same way a gym membership doesn’t bank unused visits. Top-up mana, bought separately, never expires.
What does a map actually cost?
A standard 1K or 2K battlemap cast runs a few mana. A full 4K multi-room cast with a couple of variations runs somewhere around 20–30 mana. In practice, an Archmage plan’s 100 mana covers several sessions’ worth of maps a month; a Demiurge plan covers a whole campaign arc.
Can I buy more if I run out mid-month?
Yes. À-la-carte top-up packs are $0.18 per mana, available on every paid tier, and the mana you buy that way never expires — it sits in your vault until you spend it, bundle reset or not.
Do I own the maps I cast?
Yes. Every battlemap and handout you cast is yours to use at your table, print, or drop into your VTT of choice, for as long as you like.
What happens if a cast fails?
You’re refunded automatically. A failed cast should never cost you mana — if the render engine chokes on a blueprint, the mana goes back in your account without you having to ask.
Is there a free tier?
No. There’s a trial: 9 mana on signup, enough for three battlemaps to learn the spell. After that you’re on a plan. We’d rather be upfront about the cost of running these models than dangle a free tier we’d have to claw back later.

Nine mana, three maps.

Try the spell before you commit to a tier.
